Cancun, Mexico

If you’ve never been to Cancun, you should probably add it to your bucket list. Cancun is a beautiful beachy area you can visit in Mexico. It is definitely a tourist hotspot but still very gorgeous and the beaches are stunning! Essentially the Hotel Association of Cancun and some other surrounding cities are planning to offer to pay for half of your hotel stay. They will give you two free nights of accommodation for every two nights that you pay for, essentially doubling your time in sunny Mexico. The Association is also giving two free child stays for every two adults that book. Other businesses are also joining in offering up to 20% off at participating golf courses, theme parks, spas, and more! Click here to learn more.
Malta

The Tourism Minister of Malta has announced that it will pay international travelers up to $240 USD to visit if they stay for more than two nights. Visitors who also take a trip to the nearby island of Gozo will earn even more money. This scheme is only available to independent travelers and will not be applicable if booking through a travel agent. The country of Malta is hoping to open up for fully vaccinated international travelers on June 1, 2021. You can find out more by clicking here.
Japan

The government of Japan recently stated that as part of their Go-To Travel campaign, they would pay for a “portion” of travelers’ costs. However, they came out again recently, after a rumor stating that the government would pay HALF of foreign tourists costs, saying this is untrue. If you currently live in Japan you are in luck, because it sounds like there may be some kind of incentive program starting soon for DOMESTIC travel WITHIN Japan. You can read more about this here.
Bulgaria

Bulgaria is offering a great place to visit in the summer. The country plans to offer mainly beach deals, paying for your sunbeds, tables, and loungers at their beaches.
Britain

Recently Visit Britain’s CEO, Patricia Yates, has said that financial incentives are being considered to encourage Brits and residents of the UK to travel domestically. So far the conversation has only been on domestic travel for people already living in Britain and no specific discount percentages or offers have been specified but it sounds promising.
Sicily, Italy

Sicily has recently confirmed that they will offer discounted hotel stays and other perks to travelers until the fall or even until December 2021. Along with discounted hotel stays, visitors can expect lots of free museum passes and free archaeological site visits. They also plan to offer discounted farm stays, tours, and more! You can read more about this here.
Maldives

The Maldives is setting up a 3V scheme to encourage travelers to “visit, vaccinate and vacation”. Instead of paying you in money, the Maldives will vaccinate you upon arrival. This is a wonderful incentive for people living in countries that are having a harder time rolling out vaccines. You can read more about this here.
New Brunswick, Canada

This one is just for people already living in New Brunswick, Canada. Basically, the province will be paying New Brunswick residents to travel within the province on ‘staycations’. New Brunswick residents can get up to a 20% rebate on their travels this summer from July 15 to September 30, 2021. This 20% rebate is valid for everything from accommodations, food, and drink, activities, and travel (transportation). Click here for more info.
